After moving to bay area for good (fingers crossed ;) , this is probably the first hike I have done and I must say, its by far the most beginner friendly hike I have done in my life. The hike begins from Dipsea trail from there in you take a diversion towards steep ravine. Its a circuit hike and the best part is that you hike alongside the a channel of water. Its the most pleasant and wonderful experience you will have. If you want to introduce hiking to your friends this is probably the hike you must take.
I have finally decided to blog all my hikes from now on... Recently moving to bay area I somehow feel obligated to finish as many hikes as possible and make sometime for myself to blog about my experiences. hopefully, from now on I ll start documenting all my hikes.
By far the most popular hike in the bay area. Its a bit crowded though. But you can get your dog for this hike. Its pretty straightforward. For those of you , who wanna challenge yourself a bit more. I would suggest to take the horse shoe trail. That will make the hike a bit more longer and fun!
I personally felt, the hike to be very dry and arid for the most parts. This will definitely remind you about the huge water scarcity issue in California... yes the place is frekin dry and gets very hot (upto 90 degrees ). |
